Director: Marty Dixon

Rabun County Emergency Management Agency mission is to provide mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery to emergencies.

The Purpose of our mission is to protect life and property in the event of a Natural or man made disaster in Rabun County.

The Rabun County Rescue Squad is a Division of the Emergency Management Agency.  The Rescue Squad is made up of 25 volunteers that respond to over 200 calls a year.  The Rescue Squad responds to lost and injured people in remote areas, Motor Vehicle Accidents, Swift Water Accidents, high angle and water accidents.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations.  Using their training, CERT members can assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event and can take a more active role in preparing their community.
