Rabun County Fire Services covers 361 square miles with 12 Volunteer Fire Stations, 250 Volunteer Firefighters, 14 Fire Engines, 11 Tankers, 12 Mimi Pumpers, 2 Fire Boats and 2 Service Trucks.
In 2007 Rabun County Fire Services responded to over 2,000 calls which consisted of Structure Fire, Brush Fires, Motor Vehicle Accidents, and Emergency Medical Calls.

January 2008 Rabun County added two paid firefighters to help respond to calls during the day while volunteers are working and to help assist in training, record keeping and administration.

Recently, we completed a new training center which will provide local training for the volunteers. This saves the county money and also volunteers valuable time by elimating the need to travel to obtain the necessary training. Volunteers are required to have 60 hours training a year.  This new facility will provide multi-station training and more realistic training for our firefighters.
