The Rabun County Planning Commission Consists of five members appointed by the Rabun County Board of Commissioners. The Planning and Zoning office is responsible for issuing Building Permits, Land Disturbing Activity Permits, processing applications for rezoning, Specific Purpose and variances. This office also enforces the Rabun County Zoning Ordinance and Soil and Water Conservation.
PLEASE NOTE: Effective JULY 1, 2008 pursuant to Georgia Law O.C.G.A. 43-41 Builders and General Contractors will be required to have a contractors license as issued by the State of Georgia Licensing Board in order to obtain construction permits in the State of Georgia. Some limited service and traditional specialty contractors are exempt from the licensing requirements.
